Where Does This Ground Cable Go? (Rear Wiring Loom)

there should be a spade connection for it to plug onto on the light cluster

The single black wire with a female spade on the end... where does it go? It near the rear left light cluster.
Year of vehicle... unfortunately a mix of everything from most eras, but my guess is this is a mid-80s rear loom.

same as above push it behind the rear light cluster bolt and tighten it acts as an earth.

OK sounds reasonable... although I would have expected the termination to be a ring or fork (not female spade) if it were to be clamped under a nut rather than pushed onto a ground tab.

OK, there my confusion... the original light clusters are long gone and this is a MK1 rear light conversion. I'll just stick a ring terminal on the wire's end and put it under under one of the cluster mounting bolts.

yeah its a small spade connector... you can change the end for a ring terminal etc to use a bolt to earth it
