Year of vehicle... unfortunately a mix of everything from most eras, but my guess is this is a mid-80s rear loom.

same as above push it behind the rear light cluster bolt and tighten it acts as an earth.

OK, there my confusion... the original light clusters are long gone and this is a MK1 rear light conversion. I'll just stick a ring terminal on the wire's end and put it under under one of the cluster mounting bolts.

yeah its a small spade connector... you can change the end for a ring terminal etc to use a bolt to earth it
