Hi, my names jack and I've owned my 1982 mini HL 998 for around 4 months now and I've been meaning to put a project blog on the forum. So far all I've done is change the exhaust from a bit of a bodged twin cherry bomb which was really loud, sounded nice and I liked it but neighbours didn't so I bought and rc40 and it's made a huge deference!! Just need to modify the exhaust brackets to tuck the exhaust up closer to floor as I hate the fact that it looks like the exhaust is hanging down too low :/ now I have a huge list of things I need to and want to do, I'm after the racing style of mini, stripped out with roll cage and fog lights and a tuned engine all done by me, it's going to be a massive learning curve though as I'm not much of a mechanic but I'm a fabricator welder :)
my next job to do is to lower the back end as for some strange reason the wheels are miles away from the arches? I'm buying 2 HI-LOWS from my local mini club but they're front ones not back so I'll be buying the extension bars from mini spares and then sorting the back end out. The last picture I uploaded is sort of what I want my mini to look like, low and wide :) I'll post more pics tomorrow of my ridiculous arch gap and my engine as I need help with it from you guys.
