Hi, due to not having the time anymore I have decied to sell my project.
Austin Mini mayfair 1985 998cc
34,000 miles
2 previous owners, full log book and orginal keys.
Work done:
Full NEW front end, wings, scuttle, a panel, bonnet, rear valence, hingle pannel, boot floor, boot lid. non gen pannels but all welding done by a classic car restorer.
Full bare metal respray in teal blue looks really nice! the welding and respray cost a small fortune alone.
Original 998 engine rebuilt by myself, spent £600 on the rebuild with papers to show. Had all new bearings, piston rings, recon cylinder head, alternator, coil, leads, full new clucth, oil pump, water pump, distributor rebuilt, new radiator hoses, thermostat, diff bearings, painted in red and silver. missed things but more or less everything got done on the engine its like new.
Both subframes stripped, painted red, all new polly bushes, brakes, new rear drums, new heavy duty tie bars, new suspension knuckles, front calipers rebuilt, new disks, new ball joints, new wheel bearings. again I will have missed things but everything on both subframes has been done and both are like new. even new nuts and bolts!
Drive shafts rebuilt with new gaiters and painted black, steering rack painted and new track rod ends fitted, brand new master cylinder, clutch master cylinder, new mounting plate, brand new full brake pipe kit fitted.
The subframes are fitted to the car with new nuts and bolts. New shockers, new heavy duty shock mountings. All the glass and doors are fitted so the car is water tight. JUST needs interior, engine fitting, detailing and just finishing off really, I have 50% of the interior but carpets, headlining and other bits are missing. I have 80% off the receipts but I do have a spread sheet with everything listed which has been bought! I have photos of everything, 100s! I have spend over 5 grand to get it to a rolling shell! this is a very nice Mini and will look the part when finished. What do people think I can get for it please? I dont have pictures of the subframres fitted or the engine with the radiator ect fitted.

You won't get back what you spent on it. It looks nicely done (but better pics would help). Unfinished I would guess somewhere around the £2000 mark, finished, closer to £3000 maybe over if done really well. If it is genuinely that close to finishing then its well worth putting the effort in any finishing it. Buyers are always suspect of unfinished projects and price accordingly.

Mini sales are depressed at the moment, and have been for the last year or so... to get good money it needs to be something which sets it apart from all the other stuff which is available.

I'm afraid an unfinished project or job lot of spares does not fall into this bracket... if you get more than 1k for the lot then you're doing well. I'd recommend selling it in bit to at least get some of you money back.

Hello,

When you get an idea of how much you want let me know, I'll be interested.

You've done a nice job by the looks of it.
