Had to get a new boot lid for my car as it doesn't line up with the rest of the rear panel, so I went on ebay and won myself a heritage boot panel part no. BMP339.
I did not however think to check that it would fit my car thinking all the MK3> lids were the same. Turns out they are according to Minispares, Minisport etc. apart from the holes for the boot seal are absent from the later type. The problem I am having is the latch plate. On the one I have taken off the car, where the latch plate fastens it is recessed at the top where it sits in, on the new one there is no recess and the plate will not fit properly.
Should the plate still fit and does the later type have the recess?
