as in the title... fitted my wind deflectors after a lot of hassle (5 minute job my arse!!), even had to take the rubbers out to fit them... anyway, now the windows wont close all the way as the gap in the rubber is too small for the window to slide into.

has anyone fitted these to their cars? and if so, how did you get round this problem?

its a shame, they look damn snazzy

cheers guys

Chris

If you bent them enough you shouldn't have to take the rubbers out, and the windows should still close fine. I used Climair ones on my Rover 114 which fitted really well, the windows were very slightly lower in their closed position but the Wind Deflector filled the gap.

How far does the window not close?

I seem to remember someone saying (You might not have to) they had to cut a bit of rubber off, so that the deflectors fit in the bit you've cut out.

Did you follow the instructions? If so there's your mistake!
They simply slot into the rubber where the glass goes, NOT between the rubber and the door frame as the instructions suggest.

Yeah, from what I remember they were a bit of a pain when I fitted mine. They slotted in fine put when I closed the window it was too tight (not enough space for the deflector and the glass. I had to modify the rubbers ever so slightly to accomodate the window

What ones are they? I fitted some climair ones to mine, went in within seconds and windows shut perfectly fine. Haven't got them fitted anymore though as I've got some Perspex windows with those silly little square openings XD

+1 I heard some stories about them being a pain to fit but they went in in seconds. As said above they in the gap where the window normally sits NOT between the rubber and door. You shouldn't need to cut the rubber about at all.

My old sports pack had them fitted between the rubber and frame and I had no issues.

mine are fitted between door and rubber, climair ones too.

my window stops short aswell.

when placed inside the window channel bit, they just fell out and moved around when you opened/closed the window.

That is what the double sided tape on them is for. Were yours new or second hand?

The original stuff sticks like the proverbial to a blanket, that will be why yours flapped about. Never had a problem with mine, fitted in less than five minutes and don't move whatever you do.
