afternoon all. hows it going?

ok small question. what seals do i need on my 1982 Austin Mk3 Mini Hl. i need some new door ones and i can seem to find them. on my car my current C**p seals have a bit of plastic that overlaps anything around the door by about 1cm, that and i can't find any basic seals that look like similar one;s to mine on mini spares.

so can someone point in the direction or mk3 door seals and rear quarter pop out window one. you know they hing out a bit.

cheers. sorry for asking stupid question by thats how i got to were i am today. :-

Where's this plastic bit? I can't imagine anything like it on a seal! I know the later ones are in two pieces where the lower has an extra "lip" on the inside to better cover the carpet edge.....

anywho, for a mk3, you need these

quarter seals are these

its not extra as in an extra part, but extra as in another "flap" in the extrusion. same component though.... If you know what I mean!? :-

oh, and the late seals... bloomin expensive. as in 5x the price! :D

dose that mean i need more seals. damn this may become exspensive.

It wouldn't surprise me if the 3/4 seals were the same as the door seals for cost reasons at Rover. I also would guess that the door seals and 3/4 seals are glued at each end at cut to the right length (the lengths will be different between the two). However, if you're absolutely sure that they are the same section, then you may want to check woolies trim (google them) and check on the length per metre. it may work out a little cheaper.

I'm a little confused by your "need more seals" comment. More than what exactly....?

i mean 4 door seals insted of a set of door seals and a set of window seal. beacause the rear window seals are the same as the door ones. i use the system of "if it looks the same use it, if not don;t" which is why i got confused by a fuel pump with a flange.

no no. get 2 door seals and 2 window seals. As I say, the lengths will be different. or try that woolies thing I mentioned (once you've measured the total length needed of course! :- )

had a look at the woolies thing in the rubber section and there wasn't any that i could see that were the same. think i'll just go with the mini spares ones. must (attempt) to stop my car leaking.

cheers pikey.

For Door Seals i use the Metro door seal, bit bigger, trim down to size. These are wider than Mini ones and seal better, also gives the door a more solid "clunk" if you get what i mean.
