Hi, in the process of rebuilding my master cylinder, it's the 1988 onwards green tag one (GMC90376).

I've taken some of it apart but the problem is getting the piston assemblies out, I've taken the circlip followed by a spacer and then a rubber seal out, but the piston just wont move. The Haynes manual describes it as if it just slides right out. Anybody got any tips/tricks? Thanks.

The bottom piston should pop out as I recall. The upper piston is retained by a little pin hiding under the rubber bung where the reservoir attaches. You should get an idea by pushing the piston in & letting it fly, a sudden clunk suggests an actual obstruction, otherwise it may just be corrosion & gunk around the open end. A delicate scrape and/or metal polish may help, followed by a relube with brake fluid.

Done! thanks Ethel, pushed it in and let it fly, and it flew straight down onto my mum's glass table, all still in one piece luckily! Cheers
