When I was cruizing at 100 km/h the other day, the clutch suddenly started to slip. This lasted for about 15 seconds and everything seemed fine after that. How strange it is that my car does this to me, and afterwards pretends nothing happend!!!

I have driven it 500 km with the clutch working just fine after the incident, but in the back of my mind I am wondering if I should change the clutch anyway? Is this just a early waring of what is about to happen?

What I wonder might have happend is a drop of oil might have hit the clutch and prevented it from working for those few seconds. Or I had the clutch glazed, and that glazing is now worn of? This is my wishful thinking, because it frightens me a bit to change the clutch, because I have never done it before, and I understand it is quite a large job.

Will I need to change it, or has my car indeed mended itself?
