Hey all. I have just upgraded my indicator flasher from the original bi-metallic strip unit to a modern flasher unit and every worked fine. I put everything back together and noticed that my hazards and interior light stopped working. i found that the inline fuse had popped. I replaced and it popped again. I replaced the fuse with a slightly higher rating and the hazard flasher goes on and off (but not the actual indicators). I have disconnected the new flasher, disconnected the hazard switch, but its the same result. any clues on what has happened?

cheers

Rich

you'd think but it didn't with mine..... although what actually happened was the glass part of the bulb had dropped out of the bayonet fitting which was allowing condensation and water to settle on the connectors whether or not this was the reason for the hazards popping when i tried the hazards I dont know, but I changed the bulbs and fuses and it all works so I am guessing it was the reason in my case.

I would only replace fuses with a like for like rateing. There there to protect the wiring and if you increase the fuse you increase the rise of melting wires or even fire!!

i know, i wasnt really replacing with a higher rating as a permanent fix, more just to see what was going on!
