hi, i want to get an 075 battery for my mini. I've always had it in my head that Bosch are best and i have a bosch in my golf tdi and i cant fault it. Halfords seen to have stopped doing them now though and offer own brand or yuasa. Im sure i saw somewhere that halfords premium batteries are just rebranded yuasa in which case i would be best saving a few quid just to have halfords written on it.

what would be recommended? Im keen to buy from halfords as i have a trade card which has excellent savings, my golf battery was around 150 reduced to 90.

I have heard they are rebranded Yuasa also Varta also Bosch, I guess just rumors to help them sell their product. I personally would never buy a battery from Halfrauds there are many internet sites that offer better brands at cheaper prices. for example.....

Your local auto shop will be alot cheaper than halfords and provide a better service if you take it back for testing/replacement.

Halfords batteries are massively over priced, I always use local auto shops

Yuasa batteries are a long standing company and before they became known in the car market they were the largest supplier to the motorcycle market, Halfords charge a fortune for batteries and as already said a local factor could save you £20

Unless you have a trade card, usually knocks about 40% off battery prices.

ye, i do and halfords is near so i sort of want to go there. For all the stick halfords get they always have what i need and any problems have been dealt with without question. My local motorfactors seem to stock real rubbish at no cheaper prices and never what i need!

Both come with 5yr guarantees so no difference really.  Got a Yuasa in the Integra (Dam BTCC sponsorship worked on me!) and its brilliant.  When the Minis ORIGINAL (1991!) battery finally dies its getting replaced with a Yuasa too.  I got mine in Halfords with my trade card.  Could have got it cheaper 25 miles away but that would have cost me £15 in return fuel
