My subframe-mounted brake limiter (proportioning valve) is poor condition.  I am unable to locate the replacement part on the Minispares website.  Is it offered there?

Is there a way to determine if my brake limiter is serviceable?  I drained clean brake fluid from it.  When I shake it, something inside rattles.

1. The valve you noted has single input and output ports.  I have to service two rear wheels.  I assume that I would simply install a "t" fitting on the output pipe.  Is that correct?

2. The valve is sized for 1/8" NPT fittings.  Is that what my Mini is equipped with?

Hi

yes that is right

the racing boys put it the brake line

front to back

were you can get at it from the driver seat

then you can open the valve more

and get the back to slide on gravel

buy touching the brake peddle

as you start to go round the corner

the fittings are unf on a mini

but that is not a problem

as you just cut the pipe and put the adjuster in

you will have to flare the ends of the pipe

That may be illegal in the UK and you definitely do need to tell your insurance company of modifications to the braking system. Somerford seem to have the correct valve in stock.

The valve's pressure operated so connecting some form of pressure gauge to an ou put would show if it works. All working bits are nicely tucked away inside so external condition isn't really an indicator.
