Hi

New to minis, I have a 2000 reg 1275cc,

While driving recently the engine just cut out, and wouldn't start, the ignition lights came on but it wouldn't turn over, traced this to 2 blown fuses in the 4 fusible links in the engine compartment box, changed the fuses and it fired up again no bother, but after driving 100 yards it cut out again, checked the fuses again and found them to have blown again.

Would I be right in assuming its a bad earth somewhere causing the fuses to blow when the car is moving.

Could anybody point me in the right direction to try and trace this earthing problem if that is the case.

Not to clued up on car electrics so any help would me much appreciated.  Cheers

If you're talking about the Four big Green fuses at the front of the engine bay then yes you have a serious bridge to earth if these are popping...

As these are the bridge between the battery and everything else in the car, then your starting point are the wires leaving the unit, up to any other fuses.

bare wires touching the body, as that pretty  much the only way you'll blow a 30 amp fuse.
