Iv been given an Accuspark from a friend and I'm not sure if its correct as his was a 1275.

The paper work says its a Kit 8 / 45D + baseplate for 59D.

Iv looked on the Accuspark website and they say a post 1980 should run a kit 8 I'm just not sure about the base plate.

this is it any way.

cheers joe.

It looks like mine as fitted to a 59d (1987 998), you have to bend or snap off the little post to get it to fit, make sure the baseplate can rotate fully without it fouling if you try to just bend it out of the way incase you want to go back to points later.

so you would remove the base plate from the accuspark? that looks harder than fitting the thing.

The baseplate people are referring to is the circular part. This is part of the distributor, not the ignition kit. Remove the screw and it will part company.

Thats it, and I think I have a screw in one of the lower holes too so I would swap one from the existing points if there is. You will soon see if there is a locating pin that needs removing, if you ever go back to points you can by using a 45d rather than 59d points set.
