Simple question really... my '68 S came to me fitted with Minispares front and rear adjustable suspension trumpets, the ride height at the front is just about spot on for me but ever since I bought the car I've wanted to drop the back end but have never got around to doing it - now that the car's resto is almost complete I thought now would be the ideal time to do it, so my question is how do I actually do it?

Presumably it has to be done with each corner jacked up off the ground and the wheels taken off.... or can it be done without doing this...?

Probably sounds like a daft / obvious one this, but it's the first Mini I've had in 25 years with adjustables fitted! Obviously in the second pic the shell is much lighter than normal with no battery, fuel tanks etc, but even before it was stripped out for the resto it sat way to high for my liking - I'd like to drop it about an inch / or an inch and a half if possible...

You might be able to do it with it on the ground if you can reach/have enough clearance at the back seen as the trumpets can be accessed either side of the subframe in the rear.

Thinking about it tho the weight of the mini's back end on the thread might be too much to turn, which could be why it is recommended to jack up. Either way you should be able to not have to take the wheel off.

Hope this helps.

I think the rear ratio is 5 to 1, so you can easily work out how much to reduce the ride hights by ... 2mm is equal to 10mm in ride hight.

The drivers side you'll have to take the wheel off I think, as the battery box gets in the way.

Although I seem to remember adjusting mine after fitting them on the 4 poster ramp with all the wheels on, god knows how I managed that, maybe there is just enough to turn the spanner (probably only a 100th of a turn at a time though, so probably easier to just remove the wheels).
