Hello

The past couple days i have been experiencing a problem. When i am cruising on the highway the car is kind of sputtering, like stop and go really quickly with power going in and out (kind of hard to explain).

This only started a day or two ago and it has just recently starting doing it on regular non highway driving as well. I think it may be the fuel pump going out. What do you guys think?

Thanks

Should like your fuel mixture or timing/points to me at the moment

I know i should be using a HS4 but right now it is out of commission so i put the HIIF44 i had laying around on there. It was working for about 2 weeks until i had this problem. I checked the spark plugs and they look golden brown so i think the mixture is ok. If it was points, wouldn't it be doing this all the time? It only does it about 15 minutes into driving. Right now the needle in the HIF44 is for a 1275. I know the fueling isnt perfect but i dont think that is the problem, because as i said before it was working for roughly a couple of weeks before i started experiencing this.

I would check your fueling and timing is correct, don't just assume its ok because your plugs look alright.

KingCraig if you havent figured your problem out check your carb. I did a rebuild on mine and turns out the mesh filter inside my carb was very very clogged and i am pretty sure i have now fixed it.

+1 on Purplesuit's comment.  Check and clean/replace any and all fuel filters inline between the tank and carburetor.  Also make sure the tank vent is not blocked and is open.
