I personally can't see what the problem is with the roll pins, providing you use the correct size punch. Plus some thing wire looped round and twisted stops them from going anywhere if they do work lose.

I've never had a problem with roll pins either - but there are always loads of people moaning that they can't get them out. So for that reason, it's a great product and I'm sure they will sell well.

I can't really see how they can justify that kind of price. They must cost pennies to produce.

I agree iy seems expensive, but when you price up doing it properly yourself (as I have done) it doesn't work out any cheaper. I have a stock of ally at work and plenty of time so that bit is free, but add in a couple of pip pins and you are up to that cost.

You could do it cheaper with pins held in with r clips I suppose, but price up and small run alloy parts and they aren't cheap if you want them to tight tolerances and that would be useless if it flopped around. I think the £20 is very sensible and anywhere up to £30 isn't mad but I can see how they come to their price.

If we had a gazillion made in China they'd be cheap. As with anything the initial batch is on a small scale production, to exact tolerances having and UK produced. If they were £10 each and lasted 5 minutes, they'd be an awful lot of upset people around. Not to mention the standard coupling is over £20 to start with

Never had a problem with roll pins. Jack the car up, put it in reverse and use the correct diameter pin punch.

If slightly loose after re-assembly either use a new pin or wire-lock the pin in place with standard steel locking wire.

Must be an eco in hear....

But unfortunately doing things properly for some is far too much hard work, hence the need to come up with solutions to things that were never a problem (or made out to be). like those 'quick release' engine mounts or the ones with the captive nuts....
