So i have read a few posts about people using hif44 on a 998 engine, and everyone jumps on saying how bad and inefficient it is, this is drilled into my mind, but i'm re-building an Austin 1300gt engine at the moment and i'm planning on using the Hif44 with it, using needle BDL.

My HS4 carb on my 998 has gone tits-up, whereby i was having some problems with it, re-built it and now its just worse and i can't get it to run right at the moment and i think i'm going to have to dismantle it again and replace more parts (I made a post earlier concerning a new part i needed for the carb).

This was a convenient time to purchase the Hif44 as i can use it temporarily untill my HS4 is sorted and i can then use it on the 1300.

By doing this am i breaking some sort of moral code with 'mini-ing'? I don't mind it being too heavy on petrol or sluggish, as it only needs to drive me about 4 miles daily. But would it cause any damage to the current 998 cylinder head or anything?

Many thanks, Yams

It'll be fine, just watch for it battering against the bulkhead.

Thanks for the info, my jet on the HS4 was basically touching the bulkhead too.
