As well as changing my headling (probably by covering it in black vinyl material) I'll need to re-colour the rear C pillar covers to match the rest of the black interior - was wondering if anyone has had any success with vinyl paints or dyes or can recommend any particular product...?

Cheers in advance ;D

i have used halfords black vinyl spray in the past with good results also used their bumper spray as well when vinyl paint was not in stock with no issues , just make sure the covers are well scrubbed up and clean .

yeah I sprayed 'back to black' bumper spray on the soft top of the mx5, came up a really nice shiny black and it's lasted well

EDIT: just realised I think you're trying to change the colour of the material to black, back to black only makes something that is already black more shiny, apologies

When I did my Sprite I sprayed the grey dash rails with vinyl paint from Halfords. 5 years later it's still there with no fading or wear.

What a transformation that is from Surfblue63. Top work! I did something similar with my dash rails on my old 1380 mini. I used Foliatec vinyl spray which was expensive, but worked really well.

The first picture is from 2007, the day I got the car home. The second shot is about 18 months later. One of the only things that remained unchanged were the pedals, look closely at the accelerator pedal. 10,000 miles later I can report that it is still a comfy place to be compared with other Minis I've been in and owned.
