The advantages :-
Never again conk out in the wet
If you ever change your engine spec you don't need to buy anything, just alter your map as needed
Smooth out the rough idle if you have a performance cam fitted
Get better economy and power
Spark plugs last longer
No maintenance, no more dizzy caps, points& condensers or rotor arms to buy
More space in front of engine
Better starting on damp mornings
Open your bonnet at car shows and all the people who had a Mini when they were younger are totally baffled !! ![]()
The disadvantages.... ?? A bit daunting to fit. The initial cost

The above sums it up very well, one additional downside is finding an EDIS unit and plug for sensible money!!

For example the disadvantages listed of being hard to fit or needing an EDIS module, are not a factor with the nodiz as we dont use EDIS (coil drivers built in) and also it only needs 6 wires connected to run. Heres a video guide on the product I did :)

Antoher downside: when it breaks you can't just replace a rotor or points to help you out,but you'll probably need to be towed away and buy a new unit.
Much less likely to break in the first place, hence no production cars using then since...

No need to break actually, just fail / error in the program.. We had problems starting our rally mini... Replaced megajolt with the normal distributor etc again and it started right away..

One thing we have is A) A phone number for tech support, B) 2 year warranty, and finally C) our own rolling road and tuning facility if you really get stuck :)
You can use TPS or MAP for load or just run in 2D mode without, as many do for ease of use :)
