Original name right? This is my first Mini and my first car that I've owned myself! She's a 1994, 1275cc Rover Mini Sprite.
I purchased her from a next door neighbour after months of bugging them to sell it to me towards the end of 2013. They'd stopped using her and kept her in a garage for best part of a year! 1 Old lady owner and 24K miles on the clock, YUM!

Engine: Perfect

Bodywork: Half and half. Most likely will need a new front end, but everywhere else is pretty good.

I am a full time student so this project is on a budget. I will not try to cut corners, but will have to if low funds get in the way :shy: !

My plans are to keep her standard-ish, with a few rally style hints. Nothing major!

How she was when I bought her:

Added a Chrome grill and went to the Castle Combe Mini show (Thanks to Pembrokeshire Mini Club who let me on their stand even though I'm not part of their club).
Got convinced by a mate to buy an RC40 system, ended up buying the kit from MiniSport while I was there  (As well as various other bits).

Exhaust out in once piece as it had seized together! Also painted the wheels black.

I've got more plans updates and pictures to post but I think I've posted enough already! I'll leave those for tomorrow morning :proud:

Blue is currently garaged up and is undergoing some rust repair (by yours truly) for her MOT at the end of the month, I've also got a 2nd hand gearbox to fit at some point!

Thanks! Need to see yours in the light now :D
My grandparents garage I've currently got her in at the moment was meant to be for fitting the box.. But the front end is so rusted and the MOT is so soon that it's going to have to wait until I've patched all these holes >_< ! D'oh!

Dude I really am jealous about how clean she is obviously apart from the front end.

Haha, cheers mate. I really need to take you out in her soon so I can make you jealous of the speed :mrcool: !

My parents might be moving back to Cardiff mate, so I might be able to see you a little more. I can't wait for my first spin in Blue.

Well, Christmas came and Santa brought me some nice chrome bits, rear numberplate light box, new handles all round (haven't fitted the side ones yet), and some chrome wipers which are absolutely shocking for clearing the windscreen of water.. but do look very nice :D

Also fitted some group 2 arches and the chrome trim.. Couldn't get a good finish over the seam along the side of the car so I just left it on the arches.. God it was a pain to fit!!

Lovely and dirty RC40 exhaust already! :shy:

Update time! Again, I haven't been keeping this very up to date so there is a few months worth of updates going into the next few posts! Anyway..

I bought a gearbox off creakjaws5533 as the current ones grinding is getting worse and worse and is most probably going to explode on me sometime soon. I was going to fit it over the winter holidays but rust repair was needed for the MOT, which I will come onto!

Gearbox.jpg

Car started steaming up inside stupidly and carpets felt wet.. Took them out and this happened.. D'oh. Bitumen did a good job of not rusting the floor from the inside weirdly.

Water%20Leak.jpg

According to my girlfriend the dog needed walking even though there was rust that needed finding!

Girl%26Maisie.jpg

I knew I was going to find some bad patches somewhere, but I was a bit gutted to find this! Was the same on both sides :X
Sill%20Rot.jpg

Also a nice selection of scuttle and wing rust. All of this was going to have to be fixed within a weekend to pass it's MOT (Still need to use the mini for uni so a complete front resto was and is out the question until summer holidays)

As you can see the panel that's meant to be under the scuttle is also completely gone >_<

Scuttle%20Rust.jpgWing%20Hole.jpg

Garaged up at my grandparents house. Time to strip her and start some patch/bodge work for the MOT! (The bodging will be rectified once I have time. This is only temporary work!)

Garaged%20up.jpg

Safety selfie first though  ;-) !

Resto%20Selfie.jpg

That's all I'll do for now, this post is getting a little bit long! Stay tuned for the results of my patch work and very amateur painting!
