Hi all,

I'm sort of stumped as to what Honda engine to use for a conversion.

I heard the best engine was the B16A or similar, but I'm still not sure. At the moment the engine and gearbox will be going in a 64' Mini Cooper. Which engine is best? Being Cost effective and fairly easy to find.

Thanks, Sam

i would go for a B16 you can easily buy a whole CRX Del sol for £800- £1000 take what you need off it and sell the rest if you get one with a transtop your make £400 back on parts.

It's a good idea buying a complete car as mentioned above. That way you know that it runs and drives, and you aren't missing any vital components (which can cost a fair bit on their own). You can strip out all the unnecessary wires and keep checking to make sure it's working at each stage.
