It pains me to do this, but it's time...
Up for sale is my 1991 205 1.9 GTI, in Steel Grey, Sorrento Green interior.
It's got SO much history with it, I don't even know where to start. Reams of paper about 3" thick, Skip Browns servicing for years, Spoox for a year or two, since I've had it, I've bough Avo front dampers, Apex springs, Group N top mounts, Magnex exhaust, cambelt, tensioner, waterpump, dizzy.
The head's recently been refurbished, the bottom end was refurbished around 5 years ago. The bodywork is good for a Pug, very good. The interior is also in good nick. The brakes were all refurbished the year before last, the handbrake even works properly, which is rare for one of these!
You wouldn't believe the amount of positive comments I get driving around in this car. Even more than when I'm in the Mini!
I've just put new front wheel bearings on it, new N/S bottom arm, it's got Baker Group N engine/gearbox mounts (yet to be fitted) , solid mount kit for the rear (yet to be fitted), group N gear linkage kit. Also has a K&N 57i induction kit on it, but comes with a good condition standard airbox and all the piping too. It's also got a nearly new OMP Corisca Superleggero steering wheel on it, that would set you back £165-170, plus the boss. The standard wheel is also included in the sale.
So, pictures:
My girls will both be sold soon. I'm kinda heartbroken, but other things in life are taking over from toy cars now.
I don't even know what to ask for this car, they're rocketing up in value and I KNOW I'm going to regret selling this. I bought it for the Brands Hatch 2 Nurburgring run last year. Drove all the way there, drove a few hundred miles around the German roads/hills/forests and drove back. Did not miss a beat at all. So comfy, perfect for the run. I didn't do any laps of the 'ring in it though. I've been there enough times already to realise that I wasn't comfortable to lap with the traffic, so just went there for the banter and beers and to see mates.
This car is serious fun, but it's still fine for everyday use. I use it all the time, literally never lets me down. It's got a Scorpion alarm on it too, one of the ones that closes the windows and locks the car on the remote. That was fitted a little over a year ago.
It's got 180k on the clock and is still going strong. It's also been magazine featured as it used to be owned by the chairman of the Peugeot Sport UK club.
Still got a copy of the magazine too, that'll come with the car!
So, the final bit. I know that these are really going to skyrocket in value. I'm tempted to park it up at the unit and keep it for two or three years. IF this was a low mileage one, I could probably advertise is on ebay for £3 or even 4k this Summer. I'm in no rush to sell it, so I'm going to stick it on here at £2k ONO and see whether anybody is interested. I really can't say enough positive things about this car. I looked for a LONG time to find one of these and it owes me a fair bit more than this, but I think that's a fair starting point really.
