It pains me to do this, but it's time...

Up for sale is my 1991 205 1.9 GTI, in Steel Grey, Sorrento Green interior.

It's got SO much history with it, I don't even know where to start. Reams of paper about 3" thick, Skip Browns servicing for years, Spoox for a year or two, since I've had it, I've bough Avo front dampers, Apex springs, Group N top mounts, Magnex exhaust, cambelt, tensioner, waterpump, dizzy.

The head's recently been refurbished, the bottom end was refurbished around 5 years ago.  The bodywork is good for a Pug, very good.  The interior is also in good nick.  The brakes were all refurbished the year before last, the handbrake even works properly, which is rare for one of these! :P

You wouldn't believe the amount of positive comments I get driving around in this car.  Even more than when I'm in the Mini!

I've just put new front wheel bearings on it, new N/S bottom arm, it's got Baker Group N engine/gearbox mounts (yet to be fitted) , solid mount kit for the rear (yet to be fitted), group N gear linkage kit.  Also has a K&N 57i induction kit on it, but comes with a good condition standard airbox and all the piping too.  It's also got a nearly new OMP Corisca Superleggero steering wheel on it, that would set you back £165-170, plus the boss.  The standard wheel is also included in the sale.

So, pictures:

My girls will both be sold soon. I'm kinda heartbroken, but other things in life are taking over from toy cars now.

I don't even know what to ask for this car, they're rocketing up in value and I KNOW I'm going to regret selling this.  I bought it for the Brands Hatch 2 Nurburgring run last year.  Drove all the way there, drove a few hundred miles around the German roads/hills/forests and drove back.  Did not miss a beat at all.  So comfy, perfect for the run.  I didn't do any laps of the 'ring in it though. I've been there enough times already to realise that I wasn't comfortable to lap with the traffic, so just went there for the banter and beers and to see mates.

This car is serious fun, but it's still fine for everyday use.  I use it all the time, literally never lets me down.  It's got a Scorpion alarm on it too, one of the ones that closes the windows and locks the car on the remote.  That was fitted a little over a year ago.

It's got 180k on the clock and is still going strong.  It's also been magazine featured as it used to be owned by the chairman of the Peugeot Sport UK club.

Still got a copy of the magazine too, that'll come with the car!

So, the final bit.  I know that these are really going to skyrocket in value.  I'm tempted to park it up at the unit and keep it for two or three years.  IF this was a low mileage one, I could probably advertise is on ebay for £3 or even 4k this Summer.  I'm in no rush to sell it, so I'm going to stick it on here at £2k ONO and see whether anybody is interested.  I really can't say enough positive things about this car.  I looked for a LONG time to find one of these and it owes me a fair bit more than this, but I think that's a fair starting point really.

I should add, there's MOT until end of July and there will be a new 6 month tax disc 'installed' at the start of February.

I'm also going to add that it's obviously a 22-23 year old car, so it's not perfect....but it's a good un by 205 standards!

Yeah, I'm impressed with this.

Literally never uses a drop of oil, nor water.  Got a load of mates that are into Pugs and they reckon this one pulls real well for a 1.9 8V.

A few of the lads have the 306 2.0 GTI-6 engine conversions in theirs.  To be honest, this was my intention with this car but I got told it was too good to mod away from standard (a mistake I made with the Mini and didn't want to repeat with this).

Lovely lovely car, one with a bit of an interesting history too!

Mine (of a similar mileage but pretty tired) is currently tucked away for a rainy day - can't bear to part with it, and it's not worth a huge amount in it's current state anyway.

Good luck with the sale! :)

Thanks matey.  I know I've been keeping an eye on the market.  If I could keep hold of this, I would.

In this nick, someone could be onto a real investment.  I know the mileage seems high, but when you think about it, it's only about 8k per year.

I've even got every tax disc bar 1!  I 'think' all of the old MOTs are there.

Forgot to mention, the dreaded rear beam was refurbished by Skip Brown a few years ago (receipt for around £1k of work on that).  £350 spent on a head refurb less than 2 years ago.  Loads and loads of refurbishment and servicing receipts from Spoox and Skip Browns too.

Reading my own advert is making me want to keep it! >_<

I want it, but would need to get rid of the mini :( although that would go to my sister. I've owned 2 205gti's before and regret selling the last one.

Buuuyyyyy iiiiiittttt! :P

It's good fun. It's a great daily. I just need a bigger car for grown up goings on. :(

I can't stress enough how much these are going up in value. A 'project' one went on ebay for 1500 the other day. There's one on there like mine but lower mileage and refurbished wheels listed at 4k!

Hello mate, where is the car based? North Wales?

I'm in South Wales and am very interested but if you're in N Wales it's too far for me!
