You could always paint it body colour, or black. Possibly the original green colour?

And then if you're mad like me you could paint it white...DSCF1505_zps6c177386.jpg

The only problem being the loss of BHP if you paint it any colour other than red as everyone knows a red engine is worth 10bhp ;-)

But seriously, I like engines that are the same colour as the car but not exactly. So a blue engine in a blue car, but not necessarily a Tahiti blue engine in a Tahiti blue car if that makes sense.

Black engines look good, I went for red and black myself, could try a nice bright yellow...

I love the green ones, only if they're immaculate, if they're grubby they look bad in my opinion, red seems like a good option.

it's not a A series engine but will give you the idea, orange engines go well in a blue car

What is the original engine color for an early Austin Mini?  Does anyone have a modern paint code to match it?

I've done a search and found references to BMC green.

I see that Minispares offers it in a 500 ml can, but they can't ship it to the US.  I'll check the US suppliers for the same product.

It's called Bronze Green, same colour as Series 1 Landrovers were painted. By coincidence I'm painting an engine and gearbox with it tonight.

White engines look really smart, a Ford engine builder I know paints all his competition engines white so any leaks can be spotted easily
