Halfords batterie are best avoided, they buy from whoever is cheapest that week and rebrand them. That's why they look different every time you go in there. Sometimes they get good ones but often they are cheap and terrible and you won't know which you've got. Get an 076 type from a good maker, Varta are good IMO but there are others obviously.
Europarts don't do 076, but they do 075, with a 5 year guarantee on Bosch and Excide batteries. Any good?

The 075 is the one you want.

Varta are alos very good,
som years ago I read a battery test in on of the classic car mags, they got a bunch of battery's of the same model from various places/ brands and tested them along with an old battery....
the new halfords battery was worse than the old one, the best one was a varta, iirc bosch was a pretty close 2nd,
Also Hafords batterys are very expensive, if you go to a battery stockest you can probably get a better battery for 1/3 less,

If you get one from eurocarparts then become a TMF+ member for £5 and you get discount off them as well as minispares and other places.

Got a Yuasa for my Honda from Halfords with trade discount. Superb starting power and 5yr warranty. Halfords own brands are crap.

Also, is there such a thing as overkill, if you buy a more powerful battery?

I think you should be fine with any decent named brand,
I would say that ypour not going to run into an "overkill issue" while working with the space given to you, in fact I wpuld say bigger is better as you'll be putting less stress on a bigger battery.
Also, the worst thing for a car battery is to let it go flat, this immediatly decreases their capacity significantly, even on a new battery. so always trickle charge them when not in use!
