Hello,

I have an '84 Mayfair 1000, that i have taken the engine out of due to the body having work done on it,

Having never taken an A series apart i don't know what it is supposed to look like,

The concerns i have are circled in red, It looks as if there are supposed to be holes there but are blocked up, I have looked on the bottom of the cylinder head and there are holes there as well as on the head gasket. Are there supposed to be holes or am is it fine?

The one circled in blue, i was just wondering whether it is supposed to be bigger?

Any help is very much appreciated.

Hi

no you are fine with the holes

its is how it is meant to be

depending on how much work you are doing

it would be good to give the block a skim

just to take the crotision marks out
