Should My Diff Sound Like This?

hi bought a engine box as a goer but my old diff is not loud like this one

thanks for looking everyone , i guess no one is sure ?

so the next question would be if it is busted  is it easier to change diff as a unit or replace full box as unit?

Hi 

it sounds like the bearings were the pot joints go 

undo the 5 bolts and have a look

Something is really wrong with the differential. I would take it apart and inspect. Depending on what you find, you might want to reuse your old gearbox if it is better than this one. If you find a lot of metal particles on this gearbox/differential make sure to replace the engine oil pump before installing your old gearbox. When my differential was breaking apart, the metal particles made it into the pump causing gouges, scratches and extra wear that would have reduced the oil pressure.

Wow very wrong lol almost sound like the gear is rubbing the case defo whip that diff case off and look be carefull though as there is shims etc behind one of those side casing
