I was looking into these the other day, they are made by a company called T7 design.

Heres a video on youtube from Mini mania about it

Couldn't you just modify the original fresh air pipe to sit nder the heater intake ?

That pipe out of the heater is sitting too high, it wont flow as it should and cause an airlock.

I'm looking at this mainly as a demister as well.

-The original heater pulls fresh air from?

-is the problem with the one in the video just the way is been set up or with the over all design?

More info and fitting options here:    http://www.t7design....products_id=180

These are used in a good few rally cars where misting up is a problem.

I have one but not fitted it yet. I told a friend here in the USA about it last year and he fitted one... gives out a LOT of heat for a small unit. In fact he did the write up associated with MiniMania's video. Yes it's a recirculating heater, but I don't see why it couldn't be modified to pull air in from the original cold air intake (i.e. the hole in the right hand flitch panel).

They look quite good. For that price as well it makes me tempted to sell my twin speed MPI heater and fit one of these in my red mini. I won't be using it as an every day car anyway and this looks smart.
