Intermittent Wipe?

Also is it meant to wipe when you use the screen wash? As currently I have to squirt the washers and then put it onto first wipe.
I assume I have some electrical gremlins to conquer but I thought I'd ask in case I'm looking for a fault which doesn't exist.
Cheers all.

And I'm fairly sure it should squirt the screen wash and wipe if you have an ekectric screen wash pump.

Like above it should do a single wipe, I'm fairly sure it doesn't wipe automatically when you squirt the washer fluid (mine doesn't anyway).

They don't wipe when you wash.
Check the condidtion of your wiper blades - if they are worn the friction between the blade and the screen can increase to the point that it won't move on a dry screen.

So while you are washing they stop working ?
Operating the washer pump has no connection at all to the wiper motor - squirting water will not make the wipers move.
Pressing down on the wiper stalk (or up on my estate) into the non-latched position should operate one cycle of the wipers (but not the washer pump), or keep going until you release it.

When I operate the washers, the washer jets operate but it does not wipe, but you say this is correct so that's fine.
When I put the wiper arm stalk down into the unlocked position nothing happens, so I guess I will have to dust off the test lamp and see what's happening.
Thanks for the info, much appreciated

I think its the park sensor in the motor that stops the single wipe, mine used to work but doesnt now, but my wipers wont auto park either,
I would look in that direction if I were you, I just get used to it to be honest (although its very nice when I get into my daily and it works ;) )

If they are still working and parking properly, I'd be looking for a continuity issue within the switch first.
Test lamp it is!

When you push it down it should wipe once, I know the indicator stalk has little connectors on for the headlights that wear so I added a bit of solder to mine to beef them back up a bit, not sure if it's the same for the wipers though as I've not had problems, but it may help

Before diving into your test gear, just check that the wiper stalk isn't touching the column shroud - mine moves sometimes (aftermarket non-mini stalks) and the stalk won't quite move far enough to make the switch.
