When you reskinned the door did you you strip out the window regulator and arms?? if so was the window fitted firmly into the rubber on the arms??

Its possible then the window is not seated correctly in the rail or the rail is not fitted correctly to the arm.

No probs, reskinned quite a few doors and it would take something very drastic for that job to stop the window from closing properly. Like a very bent window frame.

Then it does sound like it could be down to either the arms or the rails. If they are new rails its a sod to get the window to sit into the rubber properly. i find you sometimes have to open the rail slightly for the window to sit in it snuggly.

Sorted! Whether it was the 'proper' way to do it is questionable.took it all apart and everything seemed ok.so in the finish, i persuaded the frame outwards abit. Door isnt as flush in the body anymore but at least the window seals. Cheers for you help

No problem, the only issue you may have now is water leaking in through the top so you may have to tweak the door around a bit. When i did my lads car (Project Erm) before paint i was twisting and tweaking the door to get it sitting flush all round making good contact with the door seals.

Both doors had a huge amount of work for them both to sit in the apertures correctly even adding a bit of extra window frame to both doors. Also added metal to all of the edges to get spot on gaps. A lot of work and i will be doing similar to my Clubby when he gets his resto later this year.
