Thought i would share this on here, Thought it would be a good idea to invest in a small van to use for the business, For fetching parts and also as an eyecatching advertising board the only vehicle i have for fetching and carrying at the moment is my ldv mighty mini race car transporter, and i guessed it wouldnt be the best idea to advertise a restoration business on the side of a tatty ldv convoy! Obviously a mini van would be ideal but not at the prices they are fetching, A metro van was considered but impossible to find, same story with maestro vans so that rules out any bl connections!

Long story short i ended up buying this for £175 + indemnity from copart

Light front end damage but low mileage of 75000, Original plan was to fix the damage, freshen it up and a nice paintjob to advertise what we are capabe of, however, the idea of a cheap to run sensible van sort of went out the window when this came along...

1996 rs 2000 2wd that has more fresh air than floorpan, way beyond being worth saving so the running gear will end up in the van along with the recaro interior, aircon, electric windows etc, posh parts chaser!

van is currently half stripped awaiting me to have some time to do some work on it, will try and get some up to date photos on soon although the stable has been joined by yet another donor car, more soon!

Ryan

Should make for a cheeky conversion. The only problem with all of this is its FWD, RWD rules for RS2000's or maybe thats me being biased for owning a proper RS2000 for 12 years. Droop snoots rule. :D  :D

Fair goes though for doing this.

Seen a couple of Mk1's done with the very same conversion oh and a 4WD version as well.

If i had the time and money i would love to do one of them but i will have to stick with the little beasties for the time being. I would like my RS back as well but that would be uber expensive. It was fun while it lasted though.

Now there's a plan Clive. try to keep the car looking as standard as possible on steel wheels etc but with a very hot YB lurking seductively under the bonnet.

Ok pipedream maybe but even with the RS lump a cheeky turbo later on would make for lots of fun.

Now there a plan! One in the front one in the back, that would be an AWESOME project!

But being serious, sounds like a brilliant project.

I run a sierra RS500 that's got 550 or 600 hp. If you have 35 grand you can have the engine? :)
