Hi guys

I am not sure if this is the right section for this question but I really hope someone can help

I am looking for a company that can supply or make period 3 point belts (any type) for my '61 van

I want the period chrome buckle look as the older style just wont go with the look I am planning and it seems very hard to find anyone who does this kind of service...well hard enough that I can find any!

does anyone have any experiences of suppliers of this kind of belt?

thanks in advance

FDTS Ltd in West Byfleet. Very helpful, make any belts you need for any car.

You don't need them in a 1961 vehicle, I am not fitting any in my 1962 deluxe the fixed belts are not really any good anyway.

These new 'period' VW Beetle Seat Belts with chrome buckles work well in Mini's and look the part in grey webbing. I just replace the Wolfsburg sticker with BMC seat belt stickers which are available as reproductions.

Yes, good quality and fixed static belts not inertia reel......note the price is per seat, ie. £60 per pair, mention they are for a Mini as the VW seller in the link now knows which type are required to fit Mini's. (Beetle Saloon I think)

I will post some pics of them fitted in an early Mini later.

I recently had to get some seatbelts for my '62 mini van.   Like you I wanted something in-fitting with the period.

'Britax seatbelt' is what you want to search for on eBay.    Then look at the photos to ensure it is 3 point FIXED (as there are lots of lap belts available),   You Can get a racing harness "hook" for the lower mount.   I was lucky and my car came with the bolts in the holes ready to be used but you can get the bolts easy enough.

I found a good 2nd hand set on eBay.   They tend to go from anywhere between £20 and £100.   Mine were in excellent condition but I think I was quite luckly to get them for the price I paid (nearer the bottom of the figure above)

They look great in my van.

Thanks for all the replies

I will have a look at all of the ideas and see what i think is the best option

i just want belts just for my own safety but I did play with the idea of not fitting any but its not worth any risk in my eyes.....

thanks again
