'92 saloon

So I found this post

http://www.theminifo...ne#entry2864896

I'm in the same predicament the rear line needs to be replaced where it goes under the subframe my plan was to splice a union into the front line and route it as installed or just pass it over the sub to the t union. Some say yes it's OK to pass it over, some say no. Over the sub is easy, under the sub not so much. I have a good flaring tool (SYKES-PICKAVANT 02700100) and copper/nickle line so the fabrication is easy. Can you get the old line out without destroying it so I can copy it?

Advice would be appreciated.

you can put it over the subframe, but i dont reccomend it, what i normally do, is remeber the pipe route, then remove the old pipe, and just bend a new pipe gently by hand straight onto the car, if your careful, i believe you can just get it over top,

Either that or splice the connection and sort it out properly if you ever had the rear subby off

ive never done this on a mini, but there are several other classics with similar problems,

I think I try and get it over the sub without taking it off, I just rehung my exhaust the thought of taking it off to remove the sub isn't really what I want to do.

thanks for the advice.

I routed mine over the subframe and through the interior of the car about two years ago, using correct pipe, I check it while doing any work as I check most bits under the car and it seems fine. If I done it again I'd probably get a braided section made up.
