Should the insulation block between the throttle body and the inlet manifold on an spi have a paper gasket on each side? One side Or no sides?

any side that needs sealing. There should be 3 in all. inlet-bracket, bracket-spacer, spacer-carb.

well on my carb i have one on both sides.

It is there to make a good seal so i would say yes have it on both sides, mine is a crab however but i can't see why it would be any different.

What is the bracket you are referring too? whats a crab?

The reason I ask is that i believe it is causing an vacuum leak.

Do i need to seal it with sealant when i put the gaskets on?

can i use normal gasket paper?

not sure about your setup, but most of the carbs I've seen have a bracket to hold the outer cables which doubles as a heat shield.

My point was, that you need to have a gasket between all the components. You can use sealer, I know I do for extra security, but strictly speaking its not necessary. Normal gasket paper is fine, but surely you can pick them up precut for pence!?

And last but not least, a crab is an 8 legged animal that walks sideways! :proud: A carb however is a carburettor!

I shall go ahead then!

Is it worth going to buy a precut one when i have some paper at home, also i cannot seem to find the gaskets on any minispares websites, thats why i wondered wether one is even supposed to be there.

about the crab
