Yeah t'was raining twincam, pretty heavy actually! I have a board behind my grille to stop as much water as possible entering the engine, but nothing can be made 100% water tight :/ I'm gonna check the points then take it for a drive while it's dry, see how I go on :)

I was just thinking maybe water was getting into the electrical system and causing it to misfire... Latex glove over the dizzy could also help keep water out (cut finger tips for the HT leads).

Good luck bud.

Sorry only just seen your last post. Well it drove spot on yesterday in the dry weather, although it cut out on me twice while sat at traffic lights, but fired straight back up at the turn of the key. I found that a bit strange but I suppose if something is damp from the rain the other night then it won't have dried out with it being cold outside.
My dizzy looks like it has a good quality cover already in place, but some electrics aren't very well protected at all.

Cheers for the advice mate :)

A glove or the proprietary cover will keep the wet out a bit BUT when the dizzy finally gets damp they keep the wet in there an STOP it drying out!
