I am really not a mechanic and probably have all the components wrong but here goes anyway.
Mini City 1000. 1985.
Rear right of engine from front is, I think, the oil separator with a breather pipe going off past the carb. There are 2 issues. First there is a lot of oil at it's base so I'm guessing either it or it's gasket needs replacing. Second, the breather pipe is compromised by a threaded top engine mount. I have the new pipe but fear this will go same way.
My questions are, is this easy to remove/replace, can it be mounted differently so as not to be compromised by the mount, what effect will this damaged hose have on performance?
Thanks for your patience and feel free to correct my poor mechanical knowledge.

Tappet cover breather. Fixing bolts probably loose making rubber gasket allow oil through. Breather pipe issues won't cause loss of power. Reroute and replace. Below photo shows clear view of rapper chest cover and breather.

Thanks for that quick response.
I have tried to look into the bracket that impinges on the breather pipe. From what I can tell, this was not an original part but an after maket addition. What were the benefits of fitting one and could I remove it without problems? It really pushes into the pipe and the thread is just tearing into the rubber pipe. I have taped the thread and have thought about putting it inside some plastic pipe to reduce friction.
Thanks again.

Breather pipe issues could cause loss of power if it was on the carb downstream of the jet and the pipe was split

Yes I suppose. I guess if the breather pipe is connected to where it was designed to on the carb it shouldn't cause any issues, assuming as you say that the pipe has no fractures, tears or holes in it. Thanks Gremlin  :proud:

Pipe is split where the threaded stabiliser bar pushes it. I have a new pipe to put on but thinking about ways around it happening again if poss. I'll post a pic when I get chance, at work all weekend.

Is the other end of the pipe on the carb?

Yes it is on the carb. Pipe is flared to wider diameter on separator. Stabiliser bar presses hard on pipe squashing it and cutting into it with movement of engine.

I'd probably replace the breather pipe and route it to the carb a different way Will.
