how do i weld a panels on with a mig welder?? is it as simple as it seems or is there some secret method??

yep mig weld them.
i think they were spot welded at the factory. so plug welding would be a good idea i spose.

for the A panels the top and bottom have a small bead of weld holding them
as for the seam strip plug weld is easy and will allow the seam finish strip to be added easy.
Remove the odl A panel and clean the edge of the wing spotless.
drill holes in the lip of the a panel and clamp the whole thing in place, then with a low wire feed on the mig start to fill the hole in the a panel lip from the middle ie welding to the wing first then filling the hole so it joins to the a panel
you do this for a good weld or you may not joint to the wing properly.
then a quick skim with the grinder to smooth it.
about 6 of them minimum will do
once you have it all in place get some brushable seam sealer and cover the joints and the inner a panel
joins, this is the stuff you see on new car boot joins, makes it waterproof and it is pretty chip resistant so will help keep the rust away in furute.
