If the oil hadn't been changed in ten years, I'd be wanting to do more than an oil change...

Memories of the old glug advert spring to mind. Can anyone remember the ad? It was where the oil light came on so he reached in the back seat for the can of glug and at the same time the engine blew up. I think it was for duckhams oil. Brilliant. I used to use the wilko 'glug' at the time in my metro. Brill stuff. Await replies.

With a low annual mileage Mini you need to change the oil & filter every 2000 miles or every year, whichever is the sooner. If you do a higher annual mileage, then every 3000 miles should be the limit for an oil change.

Original service interval for a Mini was 1500 miles for oil and a further 1500 for oil & filter.

For a high revving modified engine Valvoline VR1 is arguable the best available these days as the ZDDP content is high.

It's suitable for everything from a bog standard engine up to a very heavily modified engine.

 

Think ill have to get some ordered, you're right, a lot cheaper on ebay!
