rite after much delay i finally got my engine started, its all new, but when it started it seemed to sound rough like a harley and not like a mini:dontgetit: it was idaling fine and started easy enough but there was a noise that i can only really describe as hitting/slapping noise comnig from somewhere but it isent the fan or anything on the side that i can see, but now it wont start, i can turn the engine over by hand easy enough, but the starter motor just seems to turn it about 3 cm but no more, tried 2 starters on it and with a fully charged battery, only thing i can see is it being something to do with the clutch/flywheel(which isent new/ is a verto one) becasue when the cars in gear and i push the clucth in all the way the car is very hard to push???????? if any of this makes sense HELPPPPPP!!!!

Start by carefully examining the entire ignition system. Firing order 1-3-4-2 with the rotor and wires going CCW. Remove the cap and check that the rotor is fully seated and that the cap isn't cracked, unseated, or otherwise damaged. Then check your static ignition timing. When I've heard the motorcycle sound you're describing it turned out to be a cracked dizzy cap allowing a serious misfire to occur. If it's bad enough, a cylinder can fire prematurely, behaving like way too much advance, preventing the engine from turning over.

Take your spark plugs out and see if the engine will turn over.If it does look for signs of water.
A reasonable amount of water in the cylinder will in effect jam the engine. If so leaking headgasket.

Best of Luck
