I ask because whilst I prefer to pay more for well known brands, these have appeared in the correct size (165/60 x 13) for the first time in over ten years, so I could be tempted (and the 165/55 x 13 Pirellis I normally get have topped the £100 mark!!)

Ovation Tyres - Anyone With Any Info/opinion On These?

Not tempted by 175 50 13's .... similar over all size and a lot cheaper?
Nothing about Ovation on the web .... a what car tyre test lists them but I could not see any actual data and it's from 2010.
I was only thinking about the lack 165's a couple of days ago ...the reason I fitted them years ago was the ERA and Metro turbo fitment
Good luck with your search

Ovation Tyres are described as 'comedy tyres' on another web site.
What Car advised against them.
You usually get what you pay for.

Cheers for the replies guys.
Dom.. I did have a spell on Yoko 175/50 x 13's but found them a bit wandery..
Coops, thanks for that, sounds like I'd better stick to the Pirellis I use now, (ouch££)

There is no such thing as a bad tyre, only drivers who find it difficult to drive within the limits of their tyres .
I had to rally on the old Colway Remoulds because they were mandated for the championship. They were dreadful, but we were all in the same position.
However, if you want best available performance buy really good tyres for your application.
I just fitted a set of 225/45 x 17 tyres onto my wife's BMW to replace the Continental run-flats she had and which we both hated. Matador is a brand name of continental and I must say they are superb tyres for a very reasonable price (I get effectively full basic trade price) and the car just feels so much better. I've not driven it fast in the wet yet, but it feels as if it will be excellent and that these tyres will handle the 214 bhp OK.
Unfortunately Matador don't do a 10" or 12" tyre.

Have the Ovations on my ERA. Find them miles better than the Conti 175/50 R 13 i had fittet prior.
Like 12" crap Falken to 539 Yokos, but in the wet even bigger difference.
Don´t reged speding the 140€s, one of the best mony spend on my ERA!

forgot to say, that it is much easier to control the car between over/understeer at the limit.

My MG ZR had Ovations on the front when I got it (and a nearly new pair by the looks of it). Grip was fine but they only lasted 12 months (mostly motorway miles).
Obviously we're talking 205 wide and 17" diameter here so possibly a completely different animal to the 12" version.

thanks for the replies.
I've stuck with the Pirelli's which I got from Black Circles at £80 a go. The last front pair had done about 15k miles so probably worked out good value in the long run
