evening all,
ok i got a good spare tyre in my garage but it keeps going flat. now then having a look on mini spares they have tubes for £5 - ish. so i want to know how simple it is to remove a trye and then fit a innertube all without paying some guy to use some machine for five mins...... .... that and i;m cheap.
so can i fit a tyre and innertube myself in the comfort of my own garage??
i seen it done with bike tyres bit of pushing then their on. is it the same process for a mini or any type?
cheers.

innertube

I would prefer to get the leak in the spare tyre fixed in that situation!
Fitting/removing tyres without the correct machines can be done, if you know how to, but it really aint that easy. You would be better off popping the wheel to a garage and getting them to fix the puncture (it'll prolly not cost much more than say £5 anyway).

breaking the bead on a car tyre is bloomin evil to do without the right machine, plus I'm not sure of the legality of fitting a tubeless tyre with a tube.
Go spend a fiver down at a back street tyre place. Even if the tyres beyond saving, they might even have one for a tenner.

it would be worth having that tyre checked while your at it, sounds like i just has a slow puncture, but your tyres are the only thing connecting you to the road so its important they are in good condition.

I think it may not be legal. It can also be very dangerous to have a tubless tyre with a tube in it. Not worth all the hassle, chances are all you've got is a rusted rim where the bead sits or a dodgy valve. Get your tyre pumped up and try and get it in the bath full of water to see where the bubbles are coming from. Sometimes it could just be a case of breaking the bead and re-seating the tyre. As Pikey7 said it can and will be a right nightmare to do your self.
