Is there a tool that can be used to split the top balljoint from the upper suspension arm.
I need to chance the seals on the drive shafts as I have a oil leak if so what is it and a name so I can look for it.
Also is it worth me Doing the gear selector oil seal as the oil will be drained. Thanks

No need to drain the oil mate, just tap another seal in behind the leaking one, there is plenty of room

Whack it hard on the side of the casting with a big hammer, you can use two, one each side at the same time if your co-ordination is any good

I think I can give that a go with the hammer watch this space as next week I might have a broken finger. Will that work for both seals the gear selector seal and drive shaft one.

Just the gear selector seal I'm afraid, so have to change the oil anyway and give it a treat

That's ok at least I know. I've seen the classic oil from Halfords is that the one to go for?

I have never had any luck using the big hammer method. I use a fairly cheap scissor type splitter. Easy peasy

That's the type you need, but go and buy one in person from a good motor factor to make sure it fits as there's quite a few different sizes out there, measure the distance between the fork legs and make sure it's slightly bigger than the width of your balljoints neck.

If you hit both sides with a hammer at the same time (two hammers) it pops off after a couple of blows, wind up splitter is good though
