Hey all, 

            My project car is an '82, so I'd assume it came out of the factory requiring leaded fuel....Is there any way to tell if the head has been converted? It's only going to be a weekend car so I'd just use additive rather than converting it, but it'd be a good excuse to get a nicer head that's ready to run on unleaded :)

As far as I'm aware, the only way to tell is to remove the head and take a look at the valve seats, an unleaded conversion will have had hardened valve seats fitted, which you can Just about see the edge/rim of if you look closely. Unfortunately there's no way of telling externally other than to go on what previous owners can tell you.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I thought that would be the case. I'm tempted just to pop a slightly hotter head on there anyyway that's already sorted for unleaded. Thanks for your help mate.
