
He left a note on it asking if it was for sale and by chance the guy rang him and said it was. It's a Mayfair 998 and needs a bit of body work as it had been sitting for a while and rust had make a visit. So that was that we got our project.
We got it home and in the garage and started stripping it down on Sunday. This is the start of the strip down.

As the above pic shows the engine, g\box and subframe and the drive train are the first things to come out.


The pics above shows the engine and subframe on a trolley jack ready to come out but as you can see the body is too low, and the axle stands we had went the tallest so a bit of muscle to lift the body up and prop the stands on the wheels and eventually there was enough room to slide it all out.

With the front subframe out time to tackle the rear subframe, which looks a lot easier then the front.

Once the front and rear subframe were out we removed all the interior and all the glass(breaking the windscreen in the process opps)


And that's as far as we got. I'm away for a week so won't be able to get any more pics til the weekend.
