I've just bought myself one.....1981 with 5000km's on the clock...it was owned by Jakarta police before being pensioned off...
Has anyone else here ever rode one? ...I must admit I'm a bit daunted by it....1047cc...6 cylinders... 105HP....

I've never ridden a CBX but I've ridden plenty of other bikes. It'll be slow and ponderous compared to a modern sports bike (a good thing in my book ) but with suspension in good nick (at 5k it's more than likely yours will be) it will waft you around very nicely for many years to come.
Is that one of the GTs in the background?

i remember a guy in my mates street having one when i used to go see him, i didnt know anything about bikes then (i was about 11) and i thought it looked totally mental with that wide 6 cylinder engine!
very cool though, nice purchase!

I already did...I think I've watched every youtube link about CBX's in deciding whether to buy this one. The guy who built it is quite some engineer.

Something sticks in my mind that Dick Emery owned one.... and there was always something about owning a 6 pot bike...
I must admit I can't wait for it to arrive, it should have been here today but it's delayed until tomorrow.....from being daunted I can't wait to go for a blast....our dry season is just starting now and the days are bright and warm - I've been amusing myself on my old Triumph Bonnie this week which I've just treated to electronic ignition (best job I ever did ) at least both cylinders fire at the same time now.
