So I am rebuilding my engine and the double roller bearing in the gearbox has gone. A lecturer with a mini gave me one to try and it is thinner than the old one and another lecturer said it will be the wrong bearing. Is he correct or will the thinner bearing work fine?

There were some narrow outer race versions in the past, so it might be one of these. If so, it is interchangeable.
