This mini starts to driv eme crazy..

Was working fine last week, drove it on the fields near my house to test it a bit ( not motted atm ;) )

Today I want to move the car, I start it, I get it into gear, release clutch pedal and boom : nothing...

Any idea why?? At like 5K rpm in 1th gear the car moves a bit ( only a little)...

grtz

my clutch went last year just before i was supposed to go on the East Anglian Job arggg.I put it in gear it moved a little then just slipped and wouldn't move at all. Took of the clutch housing and there was friction material everywhere, the clutch had disintegrated so it was metal on metal. Not too hard to replace a clutch the worst bit is getting the damn flywheel off which is much easier with then engine in the car. Also if you go ahead and replace the clutch do the crank oil seal while you're in there. :D

Was it wet, it might be water contamination

If its a new clutch are you sure the clutch shaft in the alloy clutch housing (wok) is returning and not siezed? thus holding the clutch lifted

Yep, everything seems to be fine over there..

Thinking more of a geabox problem.. he makes a weard 'klunking' sound when he is in neutral.. but can't think what th eproblem there could be as the engine was working yesterday ..

Well if the shaft is not seized and lifting the clutch, then its time to investigate with the clutch cover removed

You might have ripped the centre out of the clutch plate. Take a look at the 'Tour of Cheshire' thread on 'Minis in Motorsport' as Dave & Jennie (Rally1380) had that happen last weekend and there are photos of the clutch plate in pieces.

What are the torque settings for these bolts? Can I reuse them? With loctite probably?
