Bit of a head scratcher this afternoon. I bought a set of Metro Turbo 4 Pot calipers to go on my sons project, but when I attemp to fit them I hit 2 issues. 1) to centralise the gap between the caliper and the disc there is a gap between the upright and the mounting flange on the caliper. 2) the metro flange hits the caliper.

I'm fitting 8.4 vented discs with the package.

Do I have something missing, should I not be using the metro flange?

Help!!!

I believe you should be using the standard Mini disc brake flange.

I thought you had to use Metro hubs! Part number NAM6450F

You do, I've just dug mine out of the cupboard, Defo part number Nam6450F.  I really must fit mine one day... Lol

metro AP 4 pot calipers, metro drive flanges/ vented discs, era turbo caliper bolts and Goodridge braided hose kit.

There supposed to be metro drive flanges, the had the raised guides on the front before I machines them off. If they are not can some one tell me the diameter they should be

Been surfing away all afternoon, looks like the flanges I have are early ones and thus bigger. Can someone who has the later ones supply me dimensions, both across the face and the back boss that fits the hub.

Ok I think im getting somewhere. Ive now taken the flange of the disc and measured it. Clearly the diameter is to large but the back element that has the spline in is only 30mm long. Talking with minispares the hub they sell (nam6450f) is aprox 49mm. Again surfing on the net I think these are for non vented. Does any one have a set if vented flanges kicking around that would like to come to a new home .

ive added some pictures to show what im talking about.

If someone could confirm im not going mad

It might just be me but the disc doesn't look to be seated properly on the drive flange which makes me question what the discs are for. Are they definitely for a Metro setup or are they for one of the proprietary setups that are available and therefore maybe meant to be used with a different drive flange. They clearly aren't standard Metro so it does make me wonder.

 

I'm not in a position to go and measure a flange but I do have this kicking around from before I built it all up.

 

 

 

Looks like 1 3/8" to me so where Minispares' 49mm comes from is a bit of a mystery. The old Mini flange is 1"

 

 

 

And this is the best I can do on a comparison of diameters.

Discs came from mini spares. I did look at these pictures, but I also found others that showed 2 different backs, the one showing vented was bigger. When I find the link Ill send it over

Your drive flanges are the vented type
