Ok, but they look like they need to have the flange turned down smaller. Minispares were saying to 4 3/4 which would take them to the same size as mini ones.

would you agree?

Yes our new vented flanges are the same outside diameter as our new standard flanges

hi guys been reading thought this and im a bit confused as im having the same sort of issues, im wanting to fit AP metro 4 pot calipers, iv fitted all the brake lines ready just struggling now fitting the disc and calipers.

i got the disc, bolts and everything i fort i needed bar the drive flang's from minisport, so instead i drilled mine to allow the bigger bolts to go thought to the disc. i came to fit them today and found that the disc hits the swivel hub, as i missing a spacer of some sort or do i have the wrong drive flange for my vented disc ?

i also found if i bolt the disc up and slide the caliper over the disc with pads in i carnt bolt the caliper to the hub either ? like im missing yet anther spacer inbertween the caliper and hub am i right or wrong there to ? but when i just slid the flang/disc onto the drive shaft free floating so to say and bolted the caliper up tight, the disc then cleared the hub but then i only have a couple of threads showing on my drive shaft ? so i want be able to tighten the flang up. have i got this all wrong or am i missing parts help would be great as im ment to be out init this weekend

thanks ben

Vented discs need vented disc drive flanges, they hold the disc in a different place relative to the calliper mountings.

ive made some progress with mine now ive machined the original metro flanges to the correct size, although I still have a gap between the hub and the caliper. I was holding off posting as do not have the engine in so not sure if that will push the drive shafts that bit further out.

Engine in or out won't make a blind bit of difference. So long as the bearings are properly seated in the hub then when you do the hub-nut up it will seat the drive-flange and therefore the disc and it won't move in or out.

Are you absolutely certain your calipers are Metro 4-pots? just like the Mini's twin-pots AP scaled the design and they were fitted to all sorts of things so there are calipers out there that look exactly the same but are not quite the same size.

I'm also puzzled by your drive flanges - the measurements you provided don't seem to stack up with the picture I posted (albeit with a highly inaccurate measurement - but not so far as the difference between it and your quoted measurement.

I've never had this sort of messing around sticking Metro 4-pots on a Mini (I didn't even have this much trouble putting MGF rear calipers on Mini hubs).
