A small update to the "TMF Staff" usergroup, but I feel it's an important one to mention.
I've seen a few threads recently in which people address our team members as 'staff' and also seem to slate them for adding their opinion into threads. Saying that "TMF Staff" shouldn't make comments like that. Well, we are perfectly entitled to add our opinion to a thread. We do try and remain neutral where we can, but we are also contributors to the forum. If there's a valuation thread and one of us thinks we can add something to it, we will. If there's a debate about whether God is real or not, we're entitled to comment with our beliefs. If there's a thread asking whether people like the styling of someone's car, we'll add our opinions.
So I've changed the TMF Staff title to TMF Team. The term 'staff' seemed to create a bit of a them and us attitude amongst some members. This is not what being a team member is all about and hopefully removing the work staff makes it clear that it's a voluntary thing that we're doing.
The moderators, admins, tech docs, area managers and all of the team are all just volunteers. We're all just Mini lovers and owners who dedicate a lot of our time and effort to helping run the forum.
We're members of the forum first, staff second. We are entitled to add our opinions, we are all entitled to have a laugh and a joke on here and we also have to pay to be members of TMF+ (yes, it costs us a fiver too). We just happen to have been picked to help out with the forum.
